Meet the President
Before last week's election, President Obama went on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Stewart took the chance to ask some tough questions (watch the interview at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIMgenYf-Tc). If you could meet the President, what would you ask and say to him that could make a real difference? Don't just praise him, rebuke him, or ask for help without a specific message. Feel free to respond to talking points from the show.

first i would start of by sayin hello mr president then i would shake is hand likea man then i will tell him its a onner to be here with him then i will ask him what do he think about the usa and the way things are going about .second ask him how do it fell to be the president then i would tell him things i think that can make a defferents in the world or just in one hood like brooklyn slot of kids are dieing because of gangs because they dont have things to do if you put more sport pograms in the neiborhood they will not have no time to be shotin and dieing they will be haveing fun as the presedent it his job to make it happen make people have a resin to live make people happy they wakeing up with they family everyday give back to the world they have kids smokin at the age of 11 becuase they dont have anything to do if they have more big brther programs they wouldnt be smokeing they would be learning
ReplyDeleteWELL ITS ENOUGH ANSWERED FROM MANY OTHERS I DONT HAVE MUCH TO SAY BUT HI AND THINGS NOW AND THEN HOW BIG OF A CHANGE YOU AND OR THE PEOPLE FEEL, AND FROM BACK THEN STARTING FROM THE FIRST PRESIDENT WOULD HE HAVE THOUGHT THE PEOPLE WOULD HAVE HAD THE SAME IDEA OR THINKING FROM NOW.BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY CHALLANGES IS BEING SUPPORTES AND MORE THINGS IS COMING NOT EVERYTHING WOULD BE THE SAME OR EASY.AT LAST NOT EVERYBODY THINKING IS THE SAME OR NOT EVERYBODY RESPOND TO IT WOULD BE THE SAME.
ReplyDeleteIf I could meet the president, first I would congradulate him on his accomplishments so far. If i could ask him one question I would ask him how prominant do you think racism is in America. Then I would ask him does he think that most of his opposition sems from his race. I have noticed that people are a lot more voicestress and more critical of our president then they were of Bush. Most importantly how can change racism in America. through out various aspects of our society racism is shown through subliminal messages.
ReplyDeleteIf could meet president Obama the first thing I would do is greet him. The first question I would ask him is what could I do as a student help you get re elected to clean up the mess that was left for you? What could you do to help us young children stay secure. Then I would also ask him what the community could do to stop the gangs and violence. Then after he was done answering the questions I would say “It takes a village to raise a child”, so what could we give back to the community? Wither it would be jobs, after school activities or even tutoring. Then I would also state changing the areas that some people are living in, for example: the homeless, the sheltered and for the people who can’t afford homes. But that’s some questions I would ask because children in the society need places to turn to and to have the safety they need.
ReplyDeleteIf I could meet the president I would start off by saying hello President Obama my name is Akeiba Rollins and I have a few quesiton to ask you. Since am such a great fan of your and the way you are and how well you are as a president. But most of all i ackknowledge the things you say to and about this countrry. Things such as changes that are needed for this country for the better. I Am so proud that we have a black president for once because election a white person wins.I can remeber we was in the 9th when the election was going on as soon as they said your name and the amount of votes you had i was so hyped because now i know that he's here for this country. Obama yiu are here to make a change that the pervious president left behind.But like i was saying they more than jus being in this situation on what going on in this world. There where so much that needed to be changex and from now some progress is going on. Obama made history in the white house and the united states. Obama you did a good job and still is doing it. Well as for you am just shock that I am here hearing you answering all my quesitonS. Obama you are an important person to all but mostly African Americans. Obama i think I would be so speechless for the fact that it so much i wanna know about what going on in this society and when might things come back on a good side meaning as people have job like money is average out and less employment.Obama you are the best.Obama you can make eveyrthing possible and will make sure that it will happen. Things really need to be better in this country. But i dont know how much more it going to happen. But Obama you are taking your time and doing a good job so far. You are the fist Black President andyou are going on the right path so far.All i know that we are some what out of a recession. Since we are not out of the recession now we are moving on to the next step that you are taking us. We want to understand the reason and know why all of this happen to our country.
ReplyDeleteIf I could meet the president I would pressure him with tough quetions.Before I do that I would let him know what he did right or correct.I would start off by telling him no one is perfect so dont try or it will fail.Another thing I would tell him is always be yourself.Do Not let the people down in washington change.So thats How I would start with him.One question I would ask him would be What makes you different from every other president besides your race.Also do you believe that you completed all your objectives during your campaign? if not then what are you doing to make sure that those objectives get complete
ReplyDeleteHonestly the first think I would ask is thinking back from his own election, does he really think he's doing a good job? Then I'll ask him why is it that so many people has mexed and changed feelings about him. What I mean by mixed feelings is people like him onw day then another they don't. And what I mean by changed feelings is so many people liked him before but now its a different story. Then I would ask him does he think by the end of his term he will do all the things he promised. People are still out of jobs, schools are still on a tight budjet I know it takes time and I personally understand that but for other americans time is a huge factor that they do not have enough of. I can see he made a change in the economy and other minor things. But seriously mr. President so you think at the rate you're going in people are going to want to re-elect you? And that's something you have to think of. If you don't finish what you promised we're going to have to wait for a new president and then it will take time for him to adjust just like it did for you, and again people do not have a lot of time. If something doesn't happen now when will it? Then I would ask him about the war. The war is getting out of control and people are dying for no reason. And I just can't imagine that millions have gone and faught for their contry for nothing. Then I would ask him to explain one thing that would benfit the united states if we just so happen to win. I mean I know he is a smart man and might find his way around it but I highly doubt it. Then I would end it by saying its been a pleaure speaking with you, I will always treasure this oppurtunity, and I wish you the best of luck! -dashaun dickerson-

I WOULD ASK HIM WHAT IS HIS PROSPECTIVE ON EDUCATION IN URBAN AREAS AND IF HE WANTED TO CHANGE THINGS IN URBAN EDUCATION WHAT WOULD IT BE. I WOULD TELL HIM THAT I WATCHED THE CLIP OF HIM ON THE DIALY SHOW WITH JON STAWART AND I THINK THAT HE IS SUCH A POWERFUL SPEAKER AND I WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT A COMMENT HE MADE IN THE VIDEO HE SAID THAT HE DON’T WANT THE WORLD TO BE LIKE THE GREAT DEPRESSION SO I WANTED TO KNOW DID HE BECOME A PRESIDENT BECAUSE HE IS FOND OF OUR HISTORY OR IS THERE OTHER REASON IF THERE IS OTHER REASONS WHAT IS THEY ? I ALWAYS WANTED TO MEET THE PRESIDENT WITHOUT THE CAMERAS TO SEE HOW HE IS. I ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE THINGS HE CHANGED FOR TEENAGERS.
