  1. Legalization of Marijuana:

I believe marijuana should be legalized. Marijuana is the only classified drug that grows naturally. Marijuana has been cultivated all around the world for thousands of years. Marijuana has been deemed illegal in the US since 1906 and every effort to enforce this law has failed dramatically. In my opinion if America really wants to solve financial problems, make marijuana legal in every state and watch the money roll in. Marijuana can be marketed and regulated like alcohol and tobacco. “A regulated, legal market in marijuana would reduce marijuana sales and use among teenagers, as well as reduce their exposure to other drugs in the illegal market”(High Times Magazine) As far as the side effects go, there are side effects to alcohol but it’s perfectly legal. Marijuana is also the most least addictive drug and it’s less addictive than alcohol. It is estimated that the US would save forty-two billion dollars by legalizing marijuana. Not to mention the amount manpower law enforce could be using to handle serious crimes. In 2009 alone, there were 13,687,241 people arrested. 858,408 of these arrests were for marijuana. 99,815 arrests were made for trafficking and sale. 758,593 arrests were made for possession. Possession amounts for 45.6% of the total arrest. What does this say about law enforcement? Majority of the people they catch, aren’t the people the people they want. Also “Arrests for marijuana possession disproportionately affect blacks and Hispanics and reinforce the perception that law enforcement is biased and prejudiced against minorities. African-Americans account for approximately 13% of the population of the United States and about 13.5% of annual marijuana users, however, blacks also account for 26% of all marijuana arrests. Recent studies have demonstrated that blacks and Hispanics account for the majority of marijuana possession arrests in New York City, primarily for smoking marijuana in public view. Law enforcement has failed to demonstrate that marijuana laws can be enforced fairly without regard to race; far too often minorities are arrested for marijuana use while white/non-Hispanic Americans face a much lower risk of arrest.’(High Times Magazine). In conclusion LEAGALIZE IT.

  2. Abortions:

I am not against abortion. I don’t think there is anything wrong with abortions. Abortions assist in stem cell research which 1 may help find a cure for deadly diseases I think of it as one loss of a life will help preserve another I feel a female is entitled to this choice. Some people may see this as an easy way out because you can conceive a child and get rid of it. What about rape victims? Do you tell them that they must live with, and provide for that unwanted child? Most importantly abortions are common among teens. Teenagers are becoming sexually active at young ages, often girls end up pregnant. Now I’m a firm believer in taking responsibility for ones actions but can the average teen raise a child when they are still a child themselves? One must also take into account the quality of life for the child being born. The average teen cannot support a baby. With that being said, if a teen is not getting support from an adult, raising a baby will be extremely difficult. Also babies don’t ask to be born so why subject that baby to a low quality of life. Abortions may seem barbaric to some but I see it as a way to erase a mistake.

  3. Living in New York City is full of so many problems. Like in life people grew up to think the same or to think different. What people do overall I just can’t believe at time. These days men are full of themselves because they don’t understand the consequence what they do. I mean like their action they don’t think before they do something. Now a day’s guys would talk to younger female for no reason is either young female attractive them rather than women. I believe that it something about a guy and their action why they love younger women. But in my case men should date females around their age. That what we learn and were taught from a certain age that becomes rape once you are under the age of 18. But once you pass 18 you are good. But in our society age is something but a number because that what the laws are now. We can’t talk to older guys or older men can’t talks to us either but it happens. That’s wrong because men are taking advantage of us. Some younger females might not have their mind fully developed yet. But guys don’t care all they want is to either have sex with them just to do it or have a relationship with you. How can I put this once you under a certain age n you are dating a guy I believe that a guy mentality is way different from a females the things a guys want to do a females wouldn’t be able to do that. Things are hard but guys have to change the way how they act. But what a guys doing to these young female isn’t good at all because that a shame on men but they don’t care right. Things what they do I believe they should go to jail because guys do so much to women that a female have to be paranoid at times. That saying if guys are capable of talking to females they are capable of talking to younger female and corrupting their mind with nonsense. Men should date around their own age and stop talking to these young girls who have a head up their shoulder.

  4. The reason men say that they prefer women that is all natural because they don't realize that any female can be exactly how you say but the way they look docent even matter it's their personality well now even depending on their personality because that can also Change so I will naturally go by their inner beauty. It's not really a choice of a women or bisexual man being natural or being made up. Like I said if you getting treated respected and proud of how you look because at the end of the day it's your feeling telling yourself what you want to do and how you want to look. For example a homeless lady came up to me in the train but she was beautiful and she axes me "is there a difference of homeless and wealthy" I said no because no one feelings should be hurt by someone else judgement it all depends on your opinion at the end of the day everyone still the same person they have been when they were born. She says "everyday some one looks at me different when I ax for change or give a testimony" I said pa them no mind because the same person telling you their inner opinion has no say so when you do better. This lady was 23 years old and had 4 kids. I felt bad for her I gave her 42 dollars and told her "god bless you" every since that day my lesson has Ben fought me that no one judgment or opinion can get you where you need to go trust yourself. Looking different dose change your personality because when you look different the way you look is the way you think and perfect example when you have money you think your rich so you don't know what to do with it you feel rich and you go bananas; same as being broke when your broke you feel sad & dull.

  5. Legalizing Marijuana
    Shaafiy Simpson
In the beginning of the 19th century alcohol was considered to be an illegal drug. People held alcohol parties in their basements and hustled it on the streets. Crime rates rose because of the constant raids in the search of the people pushing this illegal substance. Eventually the government made it legal to drink alcohol. The legalization of alcohol made crime temporarily decrease and the taxes the government put on alcohol helped our economy during the great depression.
History is ever-changing and bound to repeat its self…
Now during the 20 century the spotlight has moved away from alcohol and is beginning to shine on marijuana. Weed is currently illegal but that does not stop people from using it. Because people don’t care about the current law on weed they continue to find some way to use it. This attitude people have is raising the crime rates in urban and suburban neighborhoods.
It is proven that smoking weed has no positive effects on the body and after long term usage can damage the body. But it is also proven that weed is less harmful and addictive then alcohol and nicotine. Isn’t it funny how nicotine which is more lethal then rattle snake venom is still legal but weed isn’t. is the government were to legalize weed like they did with alcohol they can tax it and better Americas economy.
When people go through chemotherapy or some other painful sickness the doctor which is a licensed professional in MEDICINE will not prescribe the patient a bottle of Hennessey or a pack of Newports. The doctor who most likely has a PHD in MEDICINE will prescribe marijuana to the patient.
I’m not saying marijuana is good for you but neither is alcohol and especially not nicotine. But nicotine and all the crazy “stuff” that’s added into the cigarettes along with alcohol have killed more people then marijuana so that should have some significant meaning on the topic of legalizing weed.
