You are blindfolded and put on an airplane. You have no clue the whereabouts of your final destination; however, you know that it is out of the country. Suddenly, you wake up and find out you are in the Middle East and you have a private tour guide who is a teenager that lives there. What are 5 questions that you would ask him/her about this region of the world and write down what you think you will encounter on your two week stay. DUE WEDNESDAY, April 13th at midnight.

ReplyDeleteIf I was taken to the Middle East I would first be grateful because the Middle East is where all of the ancient knowledge lies. The first question I would ask is which way is the pyramids. The Pyramids of Giza is the first place I would travel because I would like to study the paintings inside the tombs. I would also like to really dig even deeper and get to the bottom of the myth the largest pyramid has.
When I first land I would most likely be dropped off in the middle of nowhere. So I would ask my private tour guide to teach me the basics of Arabic. I would try and learn the basics because the Arabic language has always been a language that appealed to me the most. This would be perfect because the tour guide could teach me how to speak Arabic on the way to see the pyramids.
After I spend some time studying the pyramids I would then ask my private tour guide if he could take me to Saudi Arabia to see Mecca. I always see large crowds of people gathered around this holy place in history books and I want to experience it for myself. I know very little about Mecca except the fact that Muslims across the world go there just to walk around it and kiss the rock.
After I am done searching for spiritual enlightenment I would ask my tour guide to take me some place where they serve the finest cuisine. A lot of spices come out of the Middle East so I would love to dine on a traditional Middle Eastern meal while it is still fresh and before it gets exported across the world.
My final question would be for my tour guide to tell me the real reason for the endless turmoil in the Middle East. The Middle East is where the first people were created and were the first civilizations rose to power. Everything began in the Middle East so I just want to know why is it that now the middle east is constantly being invaded by outsiders and can’t seem to seize the opportunity to being their own independent superpower.
Because of the civil wars and constant bomb threat taking place as we speak I know touring in the middle east would be dangerous and life changing. I would most likely see more deaths then I could imagine. But I would still learn a lot.

If I was transported to the middle east the obvious question I would ask is this area the area that the united states is at war with. that is the first question i would ask because i would not want to get caught up in the middle of their war then die.Another question I would ask is what things are appropriate or what things do you practice.I would ask this because some of the things we do in America maybe they can not do. For an example in America males sag their pants so if in the middle east that might offend their people. Also if girls wear short shorts and shirts that show a lot of cleavage this could get the girls killed or stoned to death. Another question I would ask is what is their government like. This is very important because you would not want to go to a country with a oppressive government. This is when the government controls all your actions and you have no say on what you can and can not do. For an example if the government gives you a curfue (a time when you have to be inside) and you do not know that your government might give you a punishment. Also a question I would ask is what is popular or what are the current trends. During my time in the Middle East so i would want to be cool so i would follow the trends. Also since I am a teen I would want to do what is popular so i would ask to see what trends the teens are following. I think my experience in the middle east would be different. I say it is different because the policies of the middle east are very different from America. One thing that I would experience differently is the climate. The climate is very hot and sandy in the middle east. Also the clothes that they wear are very different. They wore very long clothes and also they had a lot of jewlery . Another thing I experienced was a very strict control the goverenment had over the people.

ReplyDeleteBeing in another country would be very different. I don’t know what to feel or what to expect while am in the Middle East. But the thing I would want to know is mostly about the kind of food and the things you people do. The question I would ask her is how is life like? Next question is it hard to get a job? People here treat each other differently or equally? What type of food do you eat? How is the education like? These question are important for me to ask because these are the things I would like to know about while am here on my 2 week. Well from what I know being in the Middle East is very different because it deals with their cultural and mostly their religion. Like the clothes they wear would be very different. While being here I want to encounter a lot of things am looking forward for me meeting new people and also like being part of family. I don’t want to be treated differently because am from somewhere else. I know me walking though the town would be very hard because I don’t fit in. I want some people to ask me question about America. I know I want to take a tour around the Middle East to see the Pyramid. I would like to Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Explore the West Bank and make your way through the Valley of the Kings, where you’ll visit the ancient tombs of pharaohs and Hatshepsut Temple. Journey to the Alabaster Mosque, an architectural masterpiece overlooking Cairo, and immerse yourself in ancient Egyptian culture of the famous Egyptian museum, housing the treasures of King Tutankhamen. Also I want to enjoy the ultimate desert safari, riding your own private 4WD vehicle, dining under the stars and sand boarding through the dunes. I just want to feel free there taking pictures and having my tourist telling me about these places. The Middle East is a big place but all I know is that I want to travel all around.
