Recently, President Obama has gotten a popularity boost due to the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden, which some say secured his reelection in 2012. Do you think President Obama should be reelected? What do you think his chances are? Use facts and logical arguments to support your view. If you disagree with someone else's view, remember to disagree without being disagreeable.
A fun website I found for evidence: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/ (It doesn't have older achievements, such as the huge health care bill.)

I honestly believe that President Obama has a pretty good chance of being re-elected in 2012. First and foremost President Obama has a lot of pull with the up and coming generation. In 2008 I can say that more than any other presidential election, people under the age of eighteen became not only politically aware but politically involved. Secondly he is black, whether or not it’s right or wrong people voted for Barack because he’s black. As far as producing results, President Obama’s achievements include the healthcare reform, the stimulus package which created three million new jobs. I think President Obama has done a great job given the amount of time he has been in office. However with republicans taking control of congress it becomes harder to put policies in affect because congress must approve them. Also I think most of the opposition to the President is racially motivated. People just hate to see a black man be successful, let alone be the head of one of the world’s most powerful nations. Regardless after eight years of this country being run into the ground the only direction we can go is up. As of May 9th - 15th , 2011 the President’s approval ratings are as followed: 16% of republicans, 46 % of independents and 83% democrats. One accomplishment that President Obama can use in a re-election campaign is the killing of Osama Bin Laden. No matter your age, ethnicity, etc every American wanted to see Bin Laden die. Also this the war on terror is what the republican party prided themselves on, now democrats have this advantage no matter who becomes the democratic candidate. Regardless if Barack runs for 2012 I WILL VOTE FOR HIM NO MATTER WHAT.
ReplyDeleteI believe that president Barack Obama has not done enough to make sure that he is re elected. If you look at what he has done over his three year reign it is not much . Okay he has killed and captured Osama Bin Ladden but he has not did much to help the American people econimically. The murder of Osama Bin Ladden has not lowered taxes it has not lowered prices of gas or anything. Therefore he has not helped the country finacially. Another thing that will work against him is the time span of which he said he was going to do things. He specifically stated that he will find and kill Osama Bin ladden but it took him just about three years to fortify that request. Then he said O I am going to remove the troops from Iraq. That has yet to happen. Also he said that O all Americans will health insurance. The last time I checked this also did not happen yet. So he said he would do things that have yet to happen. Therefore this would hurt him in his re election period. I believe that this will hurt his re election but wont stop him from being elected. I believe that the black community is rising so therefore that will cause his votes to rise. Another way he can be re elected is he stood up to Donald Trumph. Donald is portrayed as a bad man so when he stands up to him the American people like that. Also since the people taught he had no backbone so when he he proved the people wrong oh he is changing so they might vote for him. Another thing that may help him is he got rid of a big issue surrounding him . He had a big issue surrounding where he was born. When he finally showed people that he was a citizen it shut up most of his critics. Therefore I believe that Barack Obama will get elected in 2012

i dont think president obama sealed his re-election but i do think he is really close. the execution of osama bin laden was very important. he promised he was going to find himand not only did he find him but he killed witch most american didnt have a problem with. i think whem president obama solves these wars and budget cuts throughtout the world he will seal his re-election race. people already put his name with the great presidents of the u.s such as ronald reagan, president kennedy, etc. his popularity has skyrocketed and that can help him in an enormous way to stay president. if he makes a good 2 - 3 more major changes i think he will indeed be re-elected. president obama as made great changes such as the gas prices, the health care plan and the execution. he basically made all the changes he promised to the u.s and that is what we need. someone who can live up to the hype and that person is president obama. also i think he will be re-elected because everyone knows he is a man of his word and america might not trust anybody else. in my opinion i think america has not trusted any president in a long time besides president obama. and another reason is obama's advantage ofbeing able to recover realy fast. it seems that everytime someone or something put him in a tight jam he gets out of it like 1-2-3. and with me saying that i think all of these things will definitely keep president obama in office in 2012.
